The Union Government extended the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme for four more years and allocated ₹3.15 lakh crore to it. Launched in February 2019, the scheme transfers income support directly to farmers' bank accounts. The Government stated it has already disbursed over ₹4.47 lakh crore across 23 instalments under the programme, sustaining direct benefit transfers to eligible cultivators nationwide.
