RBI to issue polymer currency notes from start of next fiscal
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said the central bank plans to issue polymer currency notes from the beginning of the next fiscal year. He said the project is still at the pilot stage and the RBI will first test how polymer notes perform in Indian climate and infrastructure conditions before deciding on a wider rollout.
