The Centre has extended the PM-KISAN scheme for four more years and allocated ₹3.15 lakh crore for the purpose. The government said more than ₹4.47 lakh crore has already been transferred directly into farmers' bank accounts through 23 instalments since the scheme's launch in February 2019. PM-KISAN provides income support to eligible farmer families.
