Customs duty cuts to boost domestic battery, solar cell manufacturing

The Union Budget announced customs duty cuts to facilitate domestic manufacturing of batteries and solar cells. These include customs exemptions for lithium-ion batteries and solar glass, alongside a higher outlay for renewable energy, part of a push to localise clean-energy supply chains.
