IIP growth slows to 6.7% in July 2026, economists warn of sluggish rural consumption
India's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) grew 6.7% in July 2026, supported by the manufacturing and the electricity and gas supply sectors. It was the second-best industrial reading since December of the previous year. Economists cautioned that sluggish rural consumption remains a drag on a broader and more durable industrial recovery.
