Coal Ministry says Talcher, NTPC applied for gasification scheme
The Ministry of Coal rejected claims that its coal gasification scheme found no takers, stating that Talcher Fertilisers Ltd and NTPC had applied. Talcher Fertilisers is already implementing a coal-based ammonia-urea gasification complex, expected to be commissioned in FY 2027-28. Coal gasification converts coal into synthesis gas for cleaner industrial and fertiliser use.
