WPI inflation rises to 9.92% in August
Wholesale Price Index inflation rose to 9.92% in August, pushed up by rising prices of food, fuel and manufactured items. Within manufactured products, WPI inflation touched a series high of 8.37%, higher than the 8.29% recorded in July. The sharp wholesale reading points to building price pressure in the pipeline that could feed into retail inflation.
