WPI inflation rises to 9.92% in August
India's wholesale price inflation, measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), rose to 9.92% in August on higher prices of food, fuel and manufactured items. Within this, WPI inflation for manufactured items touched a series high of 8.37%, up from 8.29% in July. The wholesale reading runs well above the softer retail (CPI) print for the month.
