A four-day faunal survey at Periyar Tiger Reserve in Kerala recorded six species not previously documented in the reserve. The newly recorded species include one bird, one butterfly and four odonate (dragonfly and damselfly) species. The findings add to the documented biodiversity of the Western Ghats reserve and underline the value of periodic, systematic surveys in protected areas.
