The Kerala government has submitted its recommendations to the Centre on the Western Ghats Ecologically Sensitive Area (ESA), seeking to limit the notified ESA to 8,590 sq km. State Environment Minister Sunny Joseph said the government will introduce a resolution on the ESA issue when the State Assembly next convenes, to formalise the State's position on the long-contested demarcation.
