WPI inflation rises to 9.92% in August
Wholesale price inflation, measured by the Wholesale Price Index, rose to 9.92% in August, driven by higher prices of food, fuel and manufactured items. Inflation in manufactured products climbed to a series high of 8.37%, up from 8.29% in July. The increase points to mounting input-cost pressure at the wholesale level, which can feed through to retail prices and shape the RBI's future rate stance.
