PM Vishwakarma
Support for self-employed artisans and craftspeople in 18 traditional trades: a certificate and ID card, paid training, a toolkit worth up to ₹15,000, and collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh at 5% interest. The 30 lakh registration target was reported as achieved in September 2026.

What you get
- PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.
- Basic Training of 5–7 days and Advanced Training of 15 days or more, with a stipend of ₹500 per day.
- Toolkit incentive of up to ₹15,000 as e-vouchers.
- Collateral-free Enterprise Development Loan of up to ₹3 lakh in two tranches.
- First tranche: up to ₹1 lakh for 18 months, after completing Basic Training.
- Second tranche: up to ₹2 lakh for 30 months, after repaying the first and adopting digital transactions or completing Advanced Training.
- Loan interest fixed at 5%; the government pays up to 8% interest subvention.
- ₹1 per digital payment or receipt, up to 100 transactions a month.
- Marketing support: quality certification, branding, trade fairs, and onboarding on GeM and e-commerce platforms.
- Onboarding on the Udyam Assist Platform as a formal MSME entrepreneur.
Who can apply
- Aged 18 years or above.
- Works with hands and tools in one of the 18 notified family-based traditional trades: carpenter; boat maker; armourer; blacksmith; hammer and tool kit maker; locksmith; goldsmith; potter; sculptor/stone carver/stone breaker; cobbler/footwear artisan; mason; basket/mat/broom maker/coir weaver; traditional doll and toy maker; barber; garland maker; washerman; tailor; fishing net maker.
- Works in the unorganised sector on a self-employment basis.
- Has not taken a loan under a similar central or state credit-based self-employment or business scheme in the previous five years.
- Past MUDRA and PM SVANidhi borrowers are eligible if they have fully repaid their loans.
- Only one member of a family (husband, wife and unmarried children) can register and get benefits.
Who cannot apply
- People in government service and their family members.
- A second member of a family that already has a registered beneficiary.
- People who took a loan under a similar credit-based self-employment scheme in the last five years (unless it was a fully repaid MUDRA or PM SVANidhi loan).
Documents usually needed
- Aadhaar (enrolment is done with Aadhaar-based biometric authentication).
How to apply
- Visit a Common Service Centre (CSC); applications are accepted only through CSCs.
- Enrol on the PM Vishwakarma portal with Aadhaar-based biometric authentication at the CSC.
- Your application is verified at the Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body, vetted by the District Implementation Committee, and approved by the Screening Committee.
