President Murmu approves 78 gallantry awards ahead of Independence Day

President Droupadi Murmu approved 78 gallantry awards for the armed forces and central armed police forces on the eve of the 80th Independence Day. The list comprises 9 Kirti Chakras, 19 Shaurya Chakras and 36 Sena Medals. Lieutenant Commander Shivam Kumar of INS Trikand was recommended for the Shaurya Chakra for exceptional courage.
