PM-KMY
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana
A voluntary pension scheme for small and marginal farmers aged 18 to 40. You pay ₹55 to ₹200 a month until age 60, the government pays the same amount, and you then get at least ₹3,000 a month.

What you get
- A minimum assured pension of ₹3,000 a month from age 60.
- The Central Government adds an amount equal to your contribution to your pension fund.
- If you die after pension starts, your spouse gets a family pension of 50%, that is ₹1,500 a month.
- If you die before age 60, your spouse can continue paying and get the pension, or take back your contributions with interest.
- If you leave the scheme, your own contributions are returned with interest.
- PM-KISAN beneficiaries can have the contribution paid automatically from their PM-KISAN money.
- Enrolment is free of cost.
Who can apply
- Small and marginal farmers who own up to 2 hectares of cultivable land as per state or UT land records.
- Your name must appear in the land records as on 1 August 2019.
- Entry age: 18 to 40 years.
- You pay ₹55 to ₹200 a month, depending on your age when you join, until you turn 60.
- A husband and wife can each join separately and each get their own pension.
Who cannot apply
- Farmers covered by another statutory social security scheme such as NPS, ESIC or EPFO schemes.
- Farmers who have joined PM Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) or PM Laghu Vyapari Maan-Dhan (PM-LVM).
- Institutional landholders.
- Former and present holders of constitutional posts.
- Former and present Union/State Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Mayors of Municipal Corporations and Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- Serving or retired officers and employees of Central/State Government, PSUs, government autonomous bodies, and regular employees of local bodies (Multi Tasking Staff, Class IV and Group D are not excluded).
- Anyone who paid income tax in the last assessment year.
- Registered, practising doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects.
Documents usually needed
- Aadhaar card.
- Bank passbook or bank account details (account number and IFSC).
- Spouse and nominee details.
- Mobile number (optional).
How to apply
- Visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) with your Aadhaar card and bank passbook.
- The CSC operator registers you online and sets up an auto-debit from your bank account for the monthly contribution.
- Sign the enrolment-cum-auto-debit mandate form and pay the first contribution at the CSC.
- You get a PM-KMY Pension Card with a unique Pension Account Number.
- You can also enrol through the PM-KISAN State Nodal Officer in your district, or online at pmkmy.gov.in.
